This is a face primer. This goes on after skin care, but before makeup. What does a primer do? The most common purposes of a primer are to make makeup application smoother and lenghten the wear time of face makeup. Some primers control oil, hydrate, mattify, illuminate, correct and fill in pores. This particular one claims to fill in pores, lines and wrinkles. It also claims to make foundation last longer. It is a clear, silicone texture ,and will not add any additional coverage. Tarte makes makeup that usually has skin care benefits in it. I mean, why wouldn't you want that? This primer has natural antioxidant nutrients and vitamins that have anti-aging and skin restorative benefits. Also a good thing. Does it smooth out lines and help fill in pores? Yes. Does it make foaundation application easier and smoother to apply? Definitely. I notice I don't cake up on the sides of my nose when I use this with any foundation. I find using this under the eyes helps eliminate creases from concealer. As far as the skin care benefits, I have not noticed a difference. That doesn't bother me all that much. Another thing I like, is that you only need a pea size amount for your whole face. I concentrate most of the product in my t-zone, where I am oiliest. Now, the cons. The price, and.....it made me break out. Ugh! I should have known it would when it didn't say oil free on it. I thought it would work this time, but I guess I just can't use silicone primers. So, I give this a 3/5. It's just okay to me. I does what it's supposed to, but it didn't wow me. But, if you're super oily and want to fill in pores, this will be for you (if silicone primers don't make you break out of course) This can be found at Ulta, Sephora and the Tarte website for $30. Will I repurchase? Yes. Although, it's pretty pricey, a little product goes a long way. I give this product a 5/5. It does what is says and doesn't break me out like a ton of big name primers out there!
