Where to start about this brand new, Nars foundation. How about packaging? It comes in a sleek, frosted glass bottle, black cap and...a pump! It's about time. This foundation comes in 20 very matchable shades. I have the shade "Light 6 Ceylon" ( I'm an nc15 in MAC sff, but it's a tad too light) as I do in all Nars foundations. I find the colors in this collection aren't too far off from/are basically the same as the sheer glow/matte lines. (which makes color matching a little easier) This foundation claims to give a luminous glow, stay all day, give full coverage and cover your face in ONE drop when used with fingers. Okay, let's start with luminous glow, I did use a primer so I didn't get a very luminous glow, (you probably would if you used a radiant primer or none at all) but it was a very natural satin. This basically made my pores disappear. My skin, looked so smooth, and stayed like that the whole time, not just at application. The best part though, was that it still looked like skin, and I mean that. When I took this off, I couldn't tell if it was all off because the foundation looks so natural. I will agree, it stays put for a while and does not cake or make my skin oily, even after 7 hours of wear. ( I have normal-combo skin) It did slightly cling to a small dry patch I had, but it wasn't very noticeable. Just exfoliate and moisturize regularly, and you'll be fine. Let's talk about coverage. For me, I can see it being full coverage, while the texture is still very thin. It really does feel like nothing on your face. Which I've never actually experienced that claim to be true for a foundation until now. Normally, I can, even if it is just slightly, feel product on my face. Not this though. Although, I have seen people with pretty more acneic skin only achieve a medium coverage with this foundation. So, I think the coverage depends on what you use, and the condition of your skin. I tried this product with my fingers, which is something I never do, but wanted to try because it was recommended. I did not like it. I couldn't get the product to look even, especially because it dries in 5 seconds. No longer than that....seriously. Work fast with this! Do small sections at a time. I do not use Beauty Blenders for my foundation because it slightly sheers the coverage and I'm not a fan of that. I used my usual Real Techniques Buffing Brush and loved the results. As far as one drop for your face...no. I have only seen one person use one drop and it barely looked like they the coverage of a BB cream. I like my coverage whether I need it or not! Overall, I have to say I'm extremely impressed. I know I thought the L'oreal Pro Matte was my new favorite foundation, but I love this so much and I'm pretty sure I like it better than any other one I've tried. The texture, the coverage and the color match had no problem doing their job in this foundation. Plus, it comes with a pump! Woo! My biggest problem is the price. $48? That's pretty high. I give this a 5/5. There was not one bad thing I had to say about the performance of this foundation. ( I just hate the price)
This foundation can be found at Sephora and Nars. Tip: When you want to try a product Sephora carries, ask them to make a sample for you before you commit to buying it! I never buy a high end foundation without trying it first. What are your thoughts? I've heard a lot of people say its everything they're looking for in a foundation, and I can fully agree. A light weight, highly pigmented natural looking, long lasting foundation. It's perfect.
Fun fact: It's noncomedogenic! (non co me do gen ik) Which means it won't clog pores.
