Jeffrey James is a well renound professional in the nutrition industry who has worked for some of the best naturopathic, osteopathic and chiropractic doctors in the country. Jeffrey believes, " What we are doing on the inside of our bodies, truly reflects on the outside. If you want to look and feel your very best, then no chemicals, no toxins, and nothing artificial could go in your body. Nature tended to always have a better solution." The Jeffrey James Botanical line consists of luxury organic skincare ingredients, that work for every skin type without using any of the chemicals, toxins and preservatives. I picked up this mud mask from Marshall's because 1) I love cake, but besides loving cake I wanted a mud mask that truly worked. I had never heard of the Jeffrey James Botanical line and loved everything about the enticing packaging. This is one of my favorite skin care masks I currently own.

"The Cake" mask is a gentle exfoliating mud mask infused with anti-oxidants, vitamin c, and glycolic acid (6.5%) , all of which aid to the collagen production and cell renewal phase that repair and decongest the skin. This also has granular exfoliant bamboo and raspberry fibers that lightly slough away any dead skin cells on top of the skin. The Glycolic Acid (6.5%!) is an added bonus in this mask. The Vitamin C repairs and prevents free radicals from causing furthur damage to the skin and protects your skin from harsh pollutants and other damaging skin elicitors. This mask promises to withdraw impurities and toxins from the skin as well as gently exfoliate and provide antioxidants to nourish the skin. Everything you could ask for in a mask right?
I would describe this masks texture to whipped frosting. This mask felt so fresh and clean on my skin. It even smells exactly like raspberry. (Heaven!) I usually scoop out two quarter-sized amounts to layer on my face and fill in any patches if needed. Before hand, I like to cleanse and exfoliate lightly so that the mask can penetrate into my skin. This mask goes on relatively easily and after a few minutes you can feel the kaolin clay working. The sensation is not tingly or uncomfortable. I generally leave this mask on anywhere from 20-25 minutes. It dries to a slightly grainy mud like texture, but does not dry your skin out. I liked that I could feel this mask working and hardening on my face. After washed off, my skin looked renewed and had a radiant glow to it. I really enjoy using this mask. The scent and the texture are pleasing and the packaging is to the point and functional. Also, while I have general exfoliators, and exfoliating cleansers, this is the only exfoliating mask I own. I'm looking forward to improvement in my skin just using the Jeffrey James Botanicals line. I encourage others to try this brand and it is also good for all skin types. Worth the money.
