This the description on Sephora's website, followed by my review. What it is: A weightless, translucent powder for all skintones that creates a soft matte finish that looks luminous in any light. What it does: This setting powder enhances the look of foundation without a trace of color, extending makeup wear thanks to the NARS exclusive Light Reflecting Complex™, which optimizes light-reflection on the skin. Its silky powder is infused with Photochromic Technology, which diffuses light and adjusts to new sources of light throughout the day. Soft, silky and luxurious to the touch and undetectable on the skin, this weightless formula applies evenly and blends effortlessly. One of the best parts? Fine lines, wrinkles, and pores optically fade as skin is visibly smoothed. Additionally, revolutionary microfine mineral powders are loaded with glycerin and antioxidant vitamin E to help guard against dryness and keep skin comfortable all day. Ideal for touch-ups, it helps regulate shine throughout the day and seamlessly sets foundation. This product is paraben- and fragrance-free and non-comedogenic. What else you need to know: NARS Light Reflecting Complex utilizes a blend of pure ingredients that work in synergy to transform light like a prism. Light-active micro-prisms are combined with algae extract and Polynesian seawater to optimize light reflection on the skin. My Review: I liked that this powder is very very fine and doesn't leave a white cast on your skin, even in photos. When I applied it, it went on very smooth and I did notice it blurred pores and smoothed everything out. When I first saw this product, I thought it was a very subtle highlighting powder because of the fine shimmers it has in it. (trust me, they're very small and not chunky) It does control oil, while also looking healthy and luminous. Who doesn't want healthy, glowing skin that's not oily?....A weird little thing about this product is, you have to scrape off the top layer before you use it or you won't get anything on your brush. Honestly, that's the only thing I didn't like, but it's a very small thing, and didn't really bother me. I love the way it looks when applied and through out the day, and definitely doesn't look cakey. huge plus for me is that it set my undereye concealer! (which was what I was looking for in the first place). This powder is not made to add extra coverage, as it's translucent. The packaging is very luxurious. It comes in a pouch that has the powder and a sponge to apply it with ( I did use a brush though). Overall, I'm very glad I purchased this. I have to say I definitely would pick this over the Makeup Forever HD Powder. That made my face look white and barely lasted 2 hours on me. Not a good look. I give this powder a 5/5 overall. I loved the performance and the packaging. I also liked how unique it is as a translucent powder. It's not just a flat powder. It gives you a slight, but natural glow. If you were thinking about purchasing this, go for it. I would recommend it, for any skin type. Good job again, Nars. P.S. I'm beginning to like the brand more and more. I wasn't too fond of Nars products for a while because I thought I could find cheaper products that do the same thing or better. My thoughts have changed recently. I feel like Nars is the only brand I've tried that offers makeup with great coverage that doesn't feel heavy and still looks like skin. That's a huge thing for me. No one likes cakey foundation! You can find this power at high end retailers/Nars counters, Sephora and Nars.com
