As usual, my 'just looking' persona was quickly persuaded when I picked up the Alba Botanica 'even advanced sea elements eye makeup remover'. It was either go for the typical cotton soaked eye makeup remover pads I know for sure work, or take a chance on something new. Having used the Alba Botanica products recently I was willing to take the chance with this eye makeup remover. Upon first glance, the 4 fl.oz bottle is an unmistakingly awesome option for one, because of the amount of product you're recieving, and two the price! you can't beat $3.99! (found at TjMaxx) You may have read one of the posts about different eye makeup removers I prefer, and what ones worked the best and which ones did not. I prefer to stick to my Almay Longwear & Waterproof eye makeup remover pads which take off ridiculous amounts of makeup that I essentially glue to my face to stay put all day. Anyways, this particular eye makeup remover has no scent and is also hypo-allergenic. I would recommend this to anyone who has sensitive eyes/ or skin. This oil-free makeup remover is also formulated WITHOUT parabens and (harmful chemicals that are put into makeup and skincare products to preserve them but often have various amounts of desensitizing agents in them that are also known to cause cancer) phthalates. (also know to cause cancer and is an ingredient often added to nailpolishes and hair sprays as a plasticizer.) This product is also against animal testing.

The instructions read "SHAKE WELL." I believe this is because ingredients especially any that are marine derived have a tendency to seperate. After shaking well, I applied a small amount on a tissue. The consistency of this makeup remover is extremely watery. I prefer more of a gel or a thicker consistency, solely for the fact it's less messy and easier to apply.

After gently sweeping this over my lashes in downward strokes, my mascara was slowly but surely coming off! I did have to use this little by little about 4 or 5 times to completely remove my eye makeup. The remover was not burning my eyes and did not feel greasy at all.
I did not have any remaining residue on my lashes after using this remover! Which is a miracle because boy do I love mascara and falsies! And boy, is that glue a pain to get out of lashes sometimes! I was pleasantly suprised with this and would recommend this to anyone who has sensitive eyes and is looking more for a natural root for skincare/makeup.
The next product I picked up at TjMaxx was this exfoliating scrub for $5.99 by Simple skincare. I picked this product up and immeadiately flipped to the back to check the list of ingredients. Another paraben free, dye free, and dermatologist tested product! (yay!) I was curious to see how this would work because I rarely use facial scrubs for exfoliating, I prefer chemical peels, or enzymes to get the job done. And this particular scrub is geared towards people who have sensitive skin. Recently my skin has been changing and is becoming slightly more sensitive to products so I was also intrigued. But in means of getting back into my mechanical exfoliant regime, I figured why not. Being this was the first I had ever heard of "Simple" I was interested to read the back list of pleasantly non irritating ingredients for the skin.

After cleansing the skin using my Alba Botanica 'Acne Dote' which I blogged about not long ago (check the alba botanica tags) my skin was cleansed and ready for exfoliation. I applied a nickel sized amount and massaged it gently into my clean, damp skin as instructed. The exfoliator has a slight scent to it, not one of which I would prefer but not one which is unbearable. This exfoliator also has a milky type feel with tiny grains in the formula (you can barely feel) which is perfect for gently exfoliating. When this is massaged into the skin it does lose its milky texture and the grains are apparent on top of the skin. I then used my silk n' exfoliating brush to buff the product into my skin in small circular motions across my face. Afterwards, I washed the remaining residue off my face with a warm wash cloth. My face felt extremely clean and smooth after application. I will definitely be keeping up this skincare regimen and trying my hardest to incorporate this scrub into it at least twice a week. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a gentle exfoliant that is also paraben, dye free and dermatologist tested.
