First off, let me say, I do not normally edit my pictures. However, I did edit the ones above (only in this post, not on instaram) to make them more true to color in person. On my phone, the camera makes my hair look pure blue, so I only edited them to show the actual color it is in person, not to enhance anything else. So, what you see in the pictures above is as close as what you would really see if you were to use this. I wish I had a camera to capture the color better, but that is what I have for now. I have been coloring my hair crazy colors since I was a teenager, but have had it blonde for the past few years. While I loved the blonde I had, I kept seeing such pretty purple hair in pictures, and decided I needed a change. ( I did try another brand before this that I got from Sallys called Raw and that was a disaster) After Kelsey helped me lift the BLUE. yes, Blue, color out of my hair from the Raw dye, it was back to its normal blonde color. (Thank you Lanza) After about a week, it was time for the Pravana. My hair took almost boxes. Each tube has3 oz of product. I used the rest to mix with my conditioner to keep the color looking fresh when I washed my hair. Since my hair was so light already, the color came out extremely bright and vivid. I loved it. I will say that when I used my conditioner with the tiniest amount of color mixed in, it did become a little too dark, and had more of an indigo tint to it, which I didn't really like compared to the gorgeous purple I started with, but it washed out in 2 or 3 washes and I'm back to where I started, so it's not a big deal. How long does this brand of color last? Honestly, a lot lot longer than any other brand I've used. It doesn't fade into gross muddy colors like most brands do. I love how it applies and how vivid the color shows up. People have actually asked me if I'm wearing a wig because it's so vibrant! I also find it is convenient that you can just apply the color without mixing it with developer. One less step! A warning, this will stain things! Your fingers, your skin, (comes off with nail polish remover and oxy face pads) your tub ( mr. clean eraser takes it right out and basically anything with a lot of alcohol) your pillow case slightly, towels and when wet it may stain the neckline of your shirt. This only happned to my clothes when I slept though, so don't worry about ruining your clothes you wear during the day. Yes, it does "stain" but there are so many easy ways to get it out, so don't be scared. You can get Pravana at A&A Beauty Supply (pro only) or online at Amazon.com. Tips for keeping your fantasy hair color fresh
1. Don't wash it every day! Use a dry shampoo between washes. I find it helps. 2. Mix a small amount of left over color in with your conditioner/ hair masks 3. Use cold water when you wash your hair. (sorry, I'm not about that life, I like hot showers. You will be okay with using hot water if you follow tip number 2. 4. Use color safe hair products Also, check out Overtone.co! They sell a clear shampoo for fantasy colored hair, but best of all they sell color depositing hair masks and conditioners for your perfect color. Ps. Kelsey also uses Pravana for her hair! (she recommended it to me) She uses the color red from their vivids line.
